West Side Story made its official Broadway opening on September 26, 1957, at the Winter Garden Theatre under the direction of Jerome Robbins. The following year, the musical opened in London's West End at Her Majesty's Theatre on December 12. West Side Story made three Broadway revival openings in 1980, 2009, and 2020.
