The Edmonton Eskimos were also known as "The Esquimaux" from 1897 up till 1910. They were also known as "The Elks" back in 1922. The helmet of the team is designed in such a way that it has a background that is yellow in color, along with the initial "EE" in Gold within a green oval. They also go by popular nicknames such as Eskies, Esks, and also The Double-E. The team has mascots who are Nanook and Punter. They have their own fight song called "Eskimo Fight Song." They have previously played their home games in the arena of Clarke Stadium from 1949 up till 1978.
