They had lost ten games successively and thereby removed their coach P.J Carlesimo and assistant Paul Westhead.

In the years between 2009 to 2012, the team regained their form under the guidance of coach Kevin Durant. This year they are again back with a new head coach, Billy Donovan, and a new line up. The top three players of the current line up are Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Dennis Schroder, and Chris Paul.
