Now very much a big name himself, Kendrick Lamar has collaborated and toured with many other big names in the hip hop industry, including Drake, Kanye West, Eminem, Busta Rhymes, and Rihanna, as well as Taylor Swift and U2. At the 58th Grammy Award ceremony, during which Kendrick Lamar won 5 awards, his performance of a medley of songs from To Pimp a Butterfly was described by Billboard as “easily one of the best live TV performances in history.” Kendrick Lamar’s music is intelligent, soulful, and versatile, with influences ranging from old school hip hop and gangsta rap to jazz and spoken word poetry.
